WEDDING FESTIVAL // 4th November 2017
A mixture of emotion is always met with an early morning alarm set at 5:30am. It’s still dark outside so two things run through my head – Is my son awake? and then I remember that today is the day! Our first meet and greet festival here at Field & Forest Weddings.
Our beautiful model Rebecca and the super talented Nadia Di Tullio Flowers arrive to get styling and pick ‘The Dress’ for today’s shoot ahead of our couples arriving mid-morning. Phoebe arrives from The Ivory Chapter with her car packed full of gorgeous brand new dresses and we pick ‘The One’ to star for today’s story. A gorgeous Watters dress called Vendela topped with Nadia’s beautiful real flower crown in mixture of autumnal masala red, softened warm tones mixed with gorgeous silvered greens.
A short drive to Yoxall we arrive at Field and Forest. It’s a misty morning within the National Forest as we pull into to park at the top of our site. We climbed out of the car wearing wellies in the daybreak dew. A short walk along wood chip pathway and through our silver Birch archway provided by the lovely Laura Loves Events, which reveals the Half Moon field complete with big hats from the amazing Peak Tipi’s. It’s a hive of activity and we are greeted by the rather magical talents that are Ben & Hannah from HBA Photography. Ben crafted our very first shoot here within the Bluebells back in May – we love working with him!! His attention to detail, energy and story created through his lens are just memorizing.
Excitement rises as the shoot starts and Ben takes Rebecca & Steve, our shoot couple, for a walk around the site to make the most of the gorgeous morning light. Rebecca toting Nadia’s show stopping bouquet she named ‘The Mother of all bouquets”! Gorgeous Protea, artichokes, brambles and wine Esutoma in gorgeous autumnal rich tones, just beautiful with the soft palette of the grounds against the autumn mist.
Whilst the shoot moves to The Blessing Circle, lots of our creative suppliers arrive adding their personality to the canvas of the day. The big hat is set for dining on trestle tables, vintage glassware and table centers with Nadia’s blooms lit by golden candlelight and the hundreds of fairy lights that twist along the Peak Tipi poles. The stationary, a watercolour masterpiece, created by Hannah at Yellowstone Paper Works, adorns each place setting with menu, table plan and welcome boards all adding to the tones. Canapes are served from Saffron Catering – just a taste of the foods they can serve for your Wedding Breakfast.
Peak Tipi’s Nimbus Tent houses Love In My Life's fabulous floral flowers LOVE letters and our live music for the day courtesy of the rather enigmatic lads from Dammit Jack. Relaxed, cheery and great fun as always, they provide laid back acoustic sounds, the perfect atmosphere as our couples start to arrive within the wedding village. Much needed hot coffee and tea, along with chocolate crepes, are served from The Old Manor House Bakery, fresh from their beautiful vintage Citroen H Van. Drinks provided by the Gin Kitchen and delicious guilt & dairy free coconut Ice cream are served from Froconut team horsebox trailer.
A short walk through the ancient woodland finds you in The Blessing Circle the perfect backdrop to your bespoke ceremony. Celebrations took place within, with pagan ribbon ceremonies showcasing 'tying the knot’ giving you an idea of how personal your ceremony can be! Michael Mullholland’s acoustic guitar sounds, the perfect soundtrack to this part of your day.
The weather held for us on this September day and we had a great time meeting all of you and hearing some rather great ideas for your time at Field and Forest Weddings. We can’t wait to see you making these memories here on our land that is exclusively yours for your day.
